Reid is proud to introduce Nox-crete™ floor treatments to the Australian construction industry. Duro-nox and Duro-Polish Plus expand the Reid construction chemical offering, complementing Nox-crete™’s well known bond breaker, Silcoseal Select, and Nox-crete™ form release agents. Duro-nox is a silicate-based concrete floor hardener, and Duro-polish Plus is a high gloss, stain blocking concrete polish which improves slip resistance. The two products will be of particular interest to major building sites and tilt-up projects.
The Australian launch of Duro-nox and Duro-Polish Plus heralds the arrival of Nox-crete™’s Tilt-Up Partner Products compatibility guarantee – guaranteed compatibility between all members of Nox-crete’s Tilt-up Partner Products range. Until now, the only Tilt-Up Partner product in Australia had been the high performance water based bond breaker, Silcoseal Select. Stay tuned for further additions to this trusted product range. At last, a concrete floor hardener that is guaranteed to work with a market leading bond breaker.
Duro-nox is a water based and odourless silicate concrete floor hardener. It works by reacting with free lime in the concrete to form very hard compounds which densify and harden concrete surfaces. The denser surface reduces staining, dust-levels and maintenance requirements whilst improving longer term appearance. The increased hardness provides exceptional abrasion resistance to protect against forklift traffic and nails from pallets, and leads to the development of a shiny gloss finish over time. The “non-dusting” properties of silicate treated floors is another well known characteristic. Duro-nox is supported by a 20-year performance warranty available from Nox-crete, with the many projects completed testament to its performance and longevity.
Some projects and building owners do not wish to wait for the development of a high gloss finish from a Duro-nox hardened floor, they need it immediately. Duro-Polish Plus provides a cost effective solution with the added benefits of improved slip resistance, stain resistance and durable long lasting wear. Applied Duro-Polish Plus meets the Static Coefficient of Friction requirements of ASTM D-2047, and actually improves the slip resistance characteristics of treated floors. Formulated with a special stain blocking additive, Duro-Polish Plus floors resist penetration of a wide variety of food, oils, beverages, and other common stain-causing materials. This is particularly suited for use in food and beverage warehouses, service stations, restaurants, supermarkets, and car parks. Small molecular size allows Duro-Polish Plus to penetrate deeply into concrete where it chemically bonds to the inside of pores, ensuring long-lasting stain protection. The very hard, durable and high gloss film protects and enhances the concrete surface without the possibility of peeling and flaking. Duro-Polish Plus is a treatment that becomes part of the concrete, rather than a coating applied on top of it, providing a longer lasting flooring option which cannot peel, yellow, or wear as easily.
