Erect
The final steps in the chain of events that take a precast concrete element from a design concept on a PC to a permanent component of the finished structure are transportation and placement.
It is at this phase of the development that the greatest performance demands are placed on the lifting and connection systems embedded in the element, and therefore the phase in which safety risks can reach their most acute. This is no time to doubt the engineering expertise and product quality of your lifting system supplier. It is the time when an investment in experience and product excellence pays off.
With many precast elements, and panel elements in particular, there will be a need to provide temporary support in the form of braces or props to hold the element safely in position until the rest of the surrounding structure is complete and locks it in its final position.
Reid provides a range of bracing anchor solutions, both pre and post installed:
ReidBrace
The ReidBrace System provides an economic solution for bracing structures and retaining wall tie backs.
- Eliminates expensive threaded rods. ReidBrace uses grade 500 ReidBar for tendons.
- Eliminates welding and threading.
- Over length bar can be cut without dismantling the bracing assembly.
- Substantial cost savings in labour and materials.
- All components sold separately.
- Engineered design, tested and certified to exceed the ultimate capacity of the 500 Grade ReidBar.
Brace Hire
A full range of braces suitable for positioning and stabilising precast elements are available for hire in most areas. All Reid Braces are designed and built in accordance with Australian Steel Structure code AS4100, the Formwork code AS3610 and the tilt-up and Precast code AS3850.
Brace Design
Our in-house engineers can also provide propping designs if required. For more information on our design service, bracing, brace hire and locking devices, please contact Reid Sales.

COIL BOLT (FLANGED HEAD)
Designed with a coil thread to provide maximum tolerance to concrete slurry and to enable fast secure installation. The new flanged head coil bolt has a 38mm serrated head that suits slotted plates.
Panel Shims
Designed for temporary levelling support for panels. Colour coded by thickness for ease of selection. Reid packing shims are manufactured from quality plastic and tested with compressive loads up to 20 tonnes. All shims are 100 x 150mm.
