Lift
Flexible lifting systems
If one application could be said to lie at the heart of our expertise at Reid, it is lifting.
Alan H Reid established the company in 1921, importing wire ropes and cables for supply to Australia’s growing mining industry.
After the Second World War, the focus of the business moved from mining to construction, and today we stand as the Australasian market leader in the field of concrete lifting, with a range comprising the world’s best cast-in lifting anchors:
SwiftLift™ - Introduced to Australia by Reid in the 1970’s, this anchor system has a remarkable safety record worldwide. The Reid SwiftLift™ range extends from 1.3 tonne Working Load Limit (WLL) foot anchors for use in lifting smaller precast elements like pipes and culverts, through to giant eye anchors with a 32 tonne WLL used to lift massive precast concrete bridge beams.
JAWS™ - Developed, tested, patented and manufactured in Australia by Reid, the JAWS system is an edge lift anchor for use in precast concrete panels. The evolving range currently spans WLL’s from 3t to 10t. Based on leading edge studies of concrete / anchor interaction, and proven through the application of finite element analysis techniques, JAWS™ is the most materially efficient concrete lifting anchor system in the world – lifting more concrete with less metal.
Face Lift Systems – another application of SwiftLift technology, Reid Face Lifters are widely employed in tilt-up concrete construction. This form of construction involves pouring precast wall panels on site using the building’s floor slab as a casting bed, and has found widespread acceptance in low rise industrial and residential construction in the last 20 years.
Safe Lifting
Whether the job involves lifting a 1 tonne drainage culvert off a truck, or positioning a concrete bridge beam weighing sixty tonnes over a working railway line, safety must always be the primary concern.
You need to plan the lift and have absolute confidence in the quality of the TOTAL LIFTING SYSTEM.
Every lifting anchor in the Reid range has a matching lifting eye or clutch, designed and manufactured to interact precisely and safely with the anchor - to work as a system.
As part of our total commitment to safe lifting, Reid has published a comprehensive Safe Lifting guide. Contact us to receive a free copy.
